The Back Story

(from CaringBridge 2018)

I started my journey with cancer on August 31, 2018. Hepatocellular carcinoma - cancer of the liver. I am really blessed that a routine endoscopy uncovered a bulge pushing into my stomach, which led my doctor to examine things further until we found the problem (read the details in a journal entry below). Now I'm working with my medical team at Sutter Health -- supported my Care Posse, family and so many loving friends -- totally encouraged that my full health is being restored day by day. I am thankful for your love and prayers; and all the generous offers to "do for me" and my dad. I am overwhelmed with the confidence I find in the intelligence, skills and attention of the Sutter professionals who work on my behalf, plus the amazing resources and technology they use to bring me back to health.
I am relying on all of us to support each other with the fact that, even as I walk through this dark valley, we can truly know we don't have to be afraid because God is guiding, comforting and empowering us every minute.
